The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Edona Maloku Bërdyna, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, who was accompanied by Majlinda Bregasi, professor of the Italian language in Faculty of Philology at the University of Pristina.
During the meeting, the continuity of the fruitful relations between Kosovo and Italy was reaffirmed, with a special focus on expanding the scope of the Italian language and culture in Kosovo. In this context, Ambassador De Riu emphasized that Italy has been and continues to be one of the countries with the largest long-term contribution in Kosovo, from the stable presence of the Italian KFOR to financial support for projects and other development processes. in Kosovo.
Currently, this support is expected to materialize through the initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support professional schools in the hotels & tourism profile. Further, the potential of developing a new program for the Italian language and culture at the University of Pristina, which would also have the field of communication at its center, was also discussed.
Prime Minister Kurti confirmed the support of the Government of Kosovo for initiatives like this coming from the friendly country of Italy, underlining the historical, strategic and cultural importance of the Republic of Italy for Kosovo and its journey.
