Last night, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, had a working dinner with the co-leaders of the Guxo Party, at the same time the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, as well as the Chairman of Alternative and at the same time the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Group of the VETËVENDOSJE! Movement, Mimoza Kusari Lila.
During the dinner, a meaningful discussion was held on the current developments, achievements and challenges of fulfilling the legislative agenda as well as plans for the future, with a focus on the legislative agenda in the state’s interest and beyond political dividing lines.
The meeting also addressed the demands and positions of the current opposition in the Assembly of Kosovo regarding the election process.
It was emphasized there that since the legislature and the government have reached the fourth year of their mandate, it is understandable that the election process is a matter of months, but that the agreement on the next steps must be in accordance with the will of the citizens of the Republic as well as the full harmonization of the opposition parties’ request regarding the position in the Assembly. Only then can the initiatives for discussions of the new electoral process be treated seriously.
In any scenario, the partners of the governing coalition expressed themselves ready and fully convinced that the cultivated values of democracy and the Government’s progress so far will continue together with our definition of a developed democratic state, with the rule of law and order and for integration in the North Atlantic structures.
