Following the ceremony announcing the best of this year in Handball, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Daulina Osmani, attended the end-of-year ceremony organized by the University Sports Federation.
At the celebration of the achievements and dedication of our university athletes, Prime Minister Kurti focused on the significant sports results of the University Sports Federation, which is not very old in terms of its establishment.
“The creation of sports competition between our universities has brought both quality and positive competitiveness among them, and with this, our students are showcasing their capacities at high international levels”, said the Prime Minister.
He highlighted one of the greatest successes achieved at the European University Games in karate, where Kosovo won four medals: one gold medal in the team competition, two silver medals and one bronze in the individual competition.

Dear students and athletes,
Distinguished attendees,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, I have the pleasure of being here with you to celebrate the achievements and dedication of our university athletes, who represent the best that the youth of Kosovo can offer.
The University Sports Federation, although not a very old federation in terms of its establishment, has achieved significant sports results even before completing a decade, thanks to its exceptional students and athletes. The creation of sports competition between our universities has brought both quality and positive competitiveness among them, and with this, our students are showcasing their capacities at high international levels.
Recently, one of the greatest successes was achieved at the European University Games in karate, where Kosovo won four medals: one gold medal in the team competition, two silver medals and one bronze in the individual competition.
Fortesa Orana, Vlera Qerimi and Elmedina Istogu were our students who made us proud with this great success in university sports, demonstrating the strength of our youth beyond our borders. Thank you!
For these achievements and many others, I congratulate you all. Kosovo as one of the countries with the youngest population in Europe has immense potential and this is being proven at every possible opportunity. Our students and youth are both the present and the future of our country. I strongly believe in this youth because they are the inspiration and hope for an ever-better Kosovo, always moving forward. Therefore, keep working with dedication and passion to build a future where your success is also our pride.
We, as the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, have launched the “Sport in Schools” program, while for University Sports, we have you.
Congratulations to the best of this year, and I hope we achieve even greater success in 2025.
Thank you!
