On the occasion of the National Day of Bosniaks, the Bosnian Cultural Center is inaugurated in Prizren

On the occasion of the National Day of Bosniaks, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Emilija Rexhepi, participated in the solemn ceremony of the inauguration of the Bosnian Cultural Center in Prizren.

“It is an honor to be with you today and to mark the day of Bosniaks as we properly should”, said Prime Minister Kurti at the beginning of his speech. On this day we remember the First Bosnian Parliament surrounded in Sarajevo in 1993 and the day when Bosniaks fought for the inalienable right to their name, he added.

He appreciated the contribution of the Bosniaks in the development of the Republic of Kosovo, while he said that the political representatives of the Bosniaks today are an integral part of the government, directly influencing in the making of important decisions for our society and the interests of the country as a whole.

The Prime Minister singled out the support of the Office of Prime Minister for the Bosnian community, through the Office of Community Affairs, which has allocated grants in support of projects for decision-making for youth, cultural activities, promotion of the heritage of handicrafts for Bosnian women, journalism for the community, radio shows and television for the community as well as the Congress of Bosniak intellectuals of Kosovo, meanwhile he said that out of 100 young people accepted in the Government’s program for 6-month internship in institutions, 32 are from the Bosniak community.

Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi also expressed her happiness that together with Prime Minister Kurti today we are marking this national holiday for Bosniaks by inaugurating the Cultural Center in Prizren. “I am proud that together with you we worked so that today in Prizren Bosnians have their own meeting place, their corner for young people, NGOs, cultural and artistic societies, women, pensioners, a place where they can listen to music in their language “. She added that with this center today we are preserving and cultivating the cultural heritage together with all other communities in the Republic of Kosovo.
