The Government of the Republic of Kosovo is committed to supporting the company Trepça Sh.A., as well as all other public companies. Support means support for development and growth of full economic potential.
From the enterprises and their leadership, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo expects the adoption of measures that increase internal operational and financial control, as well as radical reforms that transform their business.
Despite the support that the Government has given during the first half of this year, the company Trepça Sh.A. has been operating at a loss as a result of production delays and insufficient revenues.
The Ministry of Economy has supported the enterprise with subsidies in the amount of 3.3 million euros, which is beyond the amount planned for the whole year.
However, these funds have not been enough to ensure the coverage of operating expenses and employee salaries, which constitute the significant part of the company’s expenses.
The Ministry of Economy has continuously encouraged the company’s management to optimize expenses. Finally, with the acceptance of the company’s request for the allocation of additional financial resources, the Ministry of Economy and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo have asked the Supervisory Board and the management to present an action plan.
We expect the company’s challenges to be addressed in a clear, effective and sustainable manner.
In particular, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo expects the company to ensure an increase in revenue production and a decrease in expenses, as the only way to achieve stabilization of the company’s operational and financial condition and regular employee compensation in a sustainable manner.
The Government of the Republic of Kosovo remains in constant communication with the Supervisory Board of the company. We ensure that all parties are maximally committed to a long-term solution, in accordance with their legal powers and responsibilities.
At the same time, the Government is handling the plan proposed by the company Trepça Sh.A. Financial support depends on the plan and concrete commitment that costs will be reduced and production growth will resume.
We are convinced that with a close cooperation and common commitment, significant improvements and positive results can be achieved for the Trepça company and for all its employees. There is no other way but intensive work and commitment, order, control and responsible management of the enterprise for success.
