With a radical investment, reaching the figure of around 5.5 million euros, today the renovations were inaugurated in the Clinic of Gynecology at UCCK. On this occasion, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu and members of the Assembly of Kosovo were present.
After visiting the transformed wards in this clinic, Prime Minister Kurti showed that out of the million dollar amount of investments, over 3 million euros are investments in infrastructure and equipment for IVF assisted medical fertilization, while about 2.4 million euros are for fetal medicine and amniocentesis.
On the other hand, the renovations, which cover a space of 5000 square meters, including the corridors, the bedrooms, are investments, which affect the improvement of the conditions for women and girls, patients there.
“There used to be 7-8 women in one room, while the bathroom was only at one end of the corridor, shared. Now there are only two beds in each room and each room has a sanitary unit and a bathroom. The cleanliness is maximum, the air quality is high, the lighting is pleasant and the dedication of the doctors and nurses is maximum,” Prime Minister Kurti explained.
Thanking all the participants who contributed to this transformation, he expressed his happiness that pregnant mothers and babies now have a better gynecological clinic than ever before. The Prime Minister reiterated that the financial support for the first time of over 55 thousand pregnant women and over 400 thousand children of Kosovo, represents a complete proof that the well-being of the mother and the child are the focus of the Government.
Meanwhile, Minister Arben Vitia expressed his happiness that the four most important renovated wards in the Gynecology Clinic are starting work today. He added that now other units have been installed in these wards, which will help in the health information system, until there will be digitization of queues and digitized processes and, all this through extraordinary conditions, which from now on will have women in this clinic.
At the Gynecology Clinic, Prime Minister Kurti was welcomed by the Director of UCCK, Osman Hajdaraj, the Director of Gynecology, Zef Ndrejaj, and the Director of the Clinical University Hospital Service of Kosovo, Ardian Shefkiu, and the health personnel.
The complete pronunciation of Prime Minister Kurti:
Today I had the special pleasure that the Minister of Health, Arben Vitina, and the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, were welcomed here by Dr. Zef Ndrejaj, who is the Director of the Gynecology Clinic at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, together with Osman Hajdari, the Director of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, and with Ardian Shefki, Doctor Ardian, who is the Health Director at the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo and with the MPs Saranda, F itora, Haxhiu and Jeta, to see an extraordinary investment, that has radically transformed this clinic.
It is about 5.5 million euros that have been invested here, in which case over 3 million euros are for medically assisted fertilization, while around 2.4 million euros are for fetal medicine and amniocentesis.
There used to be 7-8 women in one room, while the bathroom was only at one end of the corridor, shared. Now there are only two beds in each room and each room has a sanitary unit and a bathroom. The cleanliness is maximum, the air quality is high, the lighting is pleasant and the dedication of the doctors and nurses is maximum. Therefore, I thank all those who worked and contributed to enjoy this day.
About ten years ago, I had my wife here, who gave birth to our daughter, but today, when you enter the Hospital and the Gynecological Clinic, you cannot tell that you are in Pristina, if you compare it with the time a decade ago in the country the same.
Now, half of these investments of over 3 million euros, which I mentioned in medically assisted fertilization, are for infrastructure, and half are for equipment, and at the same time we are very lucky that expectant mothers, babies and children in general, have the best gynecological clinic, as never before, precisely in the period when they are also receiving child and maternity allowances. Over 55 thousand mothers receive financial support and over 400 thousand children of Kosovo for the first time with the current Government, which is also a complete proof that the mother and the child, her health and that of the child, the well-being of the mother and the child, are in focus of our Government
