In the amount of 750 thousand euros, the investments made in the Clinic of Cardiac Surgery were inaugurated today, just a short time after the radical transformations that were also made in the Clinics of Gynecology, Oncology and Urology.

The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said that today a clinic with the most modern possible conditions and such an important clinic as Cardiosurgery is being opened. It will provide opportunities for all patients in the Republic of Kosovo to receive the best, most qualitative services, which they previously did not receive here, but in other countries or in private clinics.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete speech:
I thank you all for coming today and especially the doctors and nurses for this warm hospitality on the occasion of the inauguration of the complete renovation and modernization of the Cardiac Surgery Clinic.
I thank the director, Dr. Shpejtim Shurdhiqi, who has been working here for a decade, exactly when this clinic was supported by the Republic of Italy, in which case we have the honor that the Italian ambassador, Antonello de Riu, is here with us. In addition to the director of the Clinic, I am also with the Minister of Health Arben Vitia and the directors of the Clinic of the University Center of Kosovo and of UHCSK, Osman Hajdari and Elvir Azizi and with the two doctors we have in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Fatmire Kollçakun and dr. Haxhi Avdyli, who this time is waiting for us from the other side since he is among the health professionals with his colleagues here in Cardiosurgery.
But we also have a special guest, Bledi Zhak. Bledi Zhaku comes from Struga, more specifically from New Jersey where he has been a cardiac surgeon for eight years, an expert of ours from the diaspora who wanted to see the investments we are making here in Kosovo.
This time, in the amount of 750 thousand euros, the number of beds has increased by 9; in intensive care from 4 to 10, while in the ward from 14 to 17. There are also filtration areas that prevent intrahospital infections, and we managed to discover 200 square meters of space without utilized. So, the internal renovation has revealed 200 square meters of space that has not been used until now and now we have room for an archive, for an office, the reception is new, has pleasant lighting and these are good conditions both for patients and for doctors and nurses. As we say, clinic after clinic, we are fixing what fixes our health, maintains it.
Here behind me is this apparatus, which serves during operations when the heart stops, it replaces both the heart and the lungs.
So, thank you very much Dr. Shpejtim for this hospitality and this opportunity to see your achievements up close, but also the investments that were made recently.
