Podujeva, November 29, 2024
Following the inauguration of the commencement of construction for the Physical Education Hall adjacent to the “Ali Ajeti” School, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Arberie Nagavci, and the Mayor of Podujevo Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, participated in the laying of the foundation stone for the Vocational High School in the Municipality of Podujevo.
With a total investment of €2.43 million, this project is a co-financing initiative between MESTI and the Municipality of Podujevo, with MESTI contributing €1.8 million, and the Municipality contributing €630,000.
The Vocational High School, also referred to as the Center of Competence, will span an area of 5247 m², encompassing 18 rooms for practical learning, 15 for theoretical learning, and 17 additional rooms designated for school staff, logistics, and other organizational purposes. The building will feature modern facilities, including restrooms designed to accommodate students with special needs.
The Prime Minister congratulated all involved on this excellent initiative and the laying of the foundation stone for the Vocational High School.
“According to the contract, the contractor is committed to completing works within 14 months or 420 days. This project will also be connected to the Industrial Park, thereby linking education and the economy across Kosovo, especially here in the Municipality of Podujevo, in the Llap region,” said the Prime Minister.
The Mayor of Podujevo Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, stated that this is one of the most significant projects for the municipality, not only because it establishes the first competence school in this municipality but also because it creates new spaces, freeing up other areas that will be utilized for primary education services.
Prime Minister Kurti’s Speech:
I congratulate you all on this excellent initiative and on the laying of the foundation stone for the Vocational High School, also known as the School of Competence, which is a co-investment with the Ministry of Local Government Administration. Here with us is also the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, represented by Minister Arberie Nagavci, as well as the Municipality of Podujevo, represented by Mayor Shpejtim Bulliqi and his team, along with Ali Tafarshiku, the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, and Member of Parliament Vendenis Lahu, as well as the workers who are present here.
We are very pleased that this School of Competence will feature both classrooms for theoretical instruction and for practical training. Specifically, there will be 18 rooms for practical training, 15 for theoretical instruction, and 17 additional rooms for administration and logistics.
The conditions will be modern, and in addition, the restrooms will be accessible for students with special needs.
According to the contract, the contractor is committed to completing works within 14 months or 420 days. This project will also be connected to the Industrial Park, thereby linking education and the economy across Kosovo, especially here in the Municipality of Podujevo, in the Llap region.
This inauguration follows the inauguration of the Physical Education and Sports Hall near “Ali Ajeti” School.
At the “Ali Ajeti” School, the school building had been constructed without a Physical Education Hall. What we have done, and what we are very proud of, is that we renovated the old “Ali Ajeti” School building in his memory, as he himself attended that very building, which is now 90 years old. At the same time, we are adding the Physical Education Hall because children and students need both bright minds and healthy bodies.
