Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri received a delegation of the MP’s of the Inter-Parliamentarian Union of Great Britain

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri, has received a delegation composed of MP’s from the Great Britain’s Inter-Parliamentarian Union led by Lord Bowness. The Deputy Prime Minister, after thanking them for the visit, stated that Great Britain has contributed and is contributing much on building the state of Kosovo, whereas the future was regarded as an important stage for European developments in Kosovo and in the Balkans.

Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri emphasized that the Government of Kosovo is entirely focused in efforts at the function of Euro-Atlantic reforms.

“Strengthening sovereignty and the Ahtisaari Plan are the best possibility for the integration of Serbs of the north on which matter the Government of Kosovo is committed”, stated Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri by adding that the Government of Kosovo, according to Ahtisaari Plan, aims to organize elections in northern Kosovo and install legitimate structures which shall contribute to the residents of that area.”
 
Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri further stated that until now e have reached five agreements in Brussels and that Kosovo is very constructive in the dialogue and in implementing agreements. According to her, the European Union should make more pressure on Serbia in order to implement these agreements. Ms. Tahiri also asked from the Inter-Parliamentarian Union to be engaged in this direction.

Ms. Tahiri also asked for support for obtaining contractual relations as well as Kosovo’s advancement towards the European Union as required by the UN Resolution for the technical dialogue and added that this request should also be supported by the countries that have recognized the independence since the same ones have supported the UN Resolution.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Inter-Parliamentarian Union of Great Britain stated that they will be fully engaged for Kosovo’s path towards euro-atlantic integrations and also on obtaining as many recognitions as possible for the state of Kosovo. The Kosovar party was asked to maintain the constructive dialogue mode as it is the manner which applies European values.

In the end, both parties agreed to further develop relations in many fields between the two states.
