Deputy Prime Minister Manaj today met with a delegation from the Foreign Ministry of Japan and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, led by Masato Iso, a Minister of the Japanese embassy in Vienna.
At the start of the meeting, Mr. Manaj thanked the Japanese Government and people for the help they have given Kosovo, and noted his deep appreciation for their recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
In response to the interest of the Japanese delegation, the Deputy Prime Minister informed them on current developments and on the efforts and commitments of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to create policies for economic development. “Clear progress has been made in many fields, thanks also to help and support from abroad, but there are many challenges ahead and Japanese cooperation and assistance is vital,” said Mr. Manaj.
Minister Masato Iso said that he was satisfied with the government’s achievements and their readiness to cooperate and he added that the Government and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency would work together on projects identified by the two parties. He also emphasized the importance of human resources, especially the young age of the population as a primary factor of the country’s development.
