Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi: Public Administration Reform is one of the main priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo

The regular meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the Public Administration Reform was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuçi.

At the opening, Mr. Kuçi noted that this process is one of the main priorities of the government of the Republic of Kosovo which was also addressed in the Progress Report of this year and is among the challenges for the future. “We now have a strategy for the Public Administration Reform which demands commitment and caution by all of us during its implementation”, stated Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Administration, Mahir Yagiclar, stated the reforming public administration in Kosovo is a process which demands a series of changing measures to be undertaken by central and local institutions and which should take place within the frames of the functional review during the next period.

The meeting went on by presenting and approving the Strategic Development Plans and processing for approval by the Government, for the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Achievements in drafting Strategic Development Plans were presented for the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and the Ministry of Kosovo Security Force.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Reform of Public Administration has also handled the drafting of Strategic Development Plans for the Ministry of Interior Integration and the Ministry of Diaspora. This process is one of main priorities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

The committee also discussed on some supplementations of Strategic Development Plans approved earlier for the Ministry of Finances, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture. The Action plan for the implementation of the Public Administration Reform for the years of 2011-2013 was also introduced at the meeting.

The committee has agreed that the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of European Integrations shall be monitoring the implementation of Strategic Development Plans and will also report to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Public Administration Reform.
