Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo Hajredin Kuçi received in a meeting today, a delegation of the Council of Europe led by Mr. Bjorn Von Sydow.
In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi briefed the Council of Europe delegation on the rule of law and order throughout the entire territory of Kosovo. On this occasion, there was also discussion on a motion regarding a new resolution on Kosovo being prepared at the Council of Europe.
“The Government of the Republic of Kosovo,” said Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi, “will continue implementation of its vision to provide concrete support to ensure an active participation of all the communities, especially of the Serb community, in the political and institutional life of the country.”
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo Hajredin Kuçi also pointed out that the support from the EULEX mission is vital to the rule of law throughout the territory of Kosovo.
During the meeting, there was also discussion on how to encourage regional cooperation and respect for the territorial integrity of all the states in South Eastern Europe.
It was a joint assessment that the negative intrusions from Belgrade with regards to the Serbian community in Kosovo are unnecessary and destabilizing. Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi expressed his views in favor of creating a climate of extensive cooperation with the countries in the region, in order to have the integration process into the European Union implemented in due time and in a smoother manner.
Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi stressed that in the meeting with the delegation of the Council of Europe, he requested that the Council of Europe Resolution on Kosovo opens the doors for the integration of Kosovo into international mechanisms, into the Council of Europe and other international mechanisms, with a specific focus on the opportunity to support the membership of Kosovo into the European Bank.
