Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri receives a delegation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Edita Tahiri met a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, comprising Ms. Anne Huhtamaki, Leader of the Crisis Management and European Affairs Unit, Ms. Maria Forslund, attaché for European Affairs and EU expansion and the Western Balkans, Ms. Mina Lajava, from the Balkans Security and Military Policy Unit, and Ms. Anne Meskannen, charge d’affaires at the Finnish Embassy in Kosovo.

In the meeting, they discussed political and security developments in Kosovo and strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Finland.

During the meeting, they said that Finland supports Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic perspective and strongly supports its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In addition, they assessed the final results of technical dialogue and it was noted that the constructive behavior of the Republic of Kosovo in this process confirms its fulfillment of European standards for good neighborliness and regional stability.

In addition, it was concluded that the European Union and its member states must have a strict position that Serbia respect its international obligations and prevent the holding of its elections in Kosovo, as well as demanding the dismantling of its parallel structures in the northern part of the country.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed they must continue working to intensify cooperation between Kosovo and Finland.
