The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed the new head of the UNICEF office in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko, to the meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi wished success and welcome to Kosovo to Mrs. Vashchenko, expressing the readiness and will for the most productive and effective cooperation.
The parties talked about the development potential of Kosovo and the importance of inclusiveness and equal distribution of economic growth towards the citizens. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that the Government is maximally supporting the objectives of sustainable development and is engaging in the design of policies and schemes as targeted as possible for different social groups.
On her part, Mrs. Vashchenko said that she feels happy about taking the task and that she is already conducting rounds of visits with leaders of local institutions. She positively assessed the importance that the Government has given to education within the Growth Plan and added that the UNICEF office stands in full support and is ready to assist in the Government’s initiatives. Also, he congratulated Kosovo for the recent development of the population census process, based on the efficiency and rapid processing of data.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the head of the UNICEF office in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko, for the fruitful conversation and the ideas exchanged.
