At the invitation of the Minister for the European Union of Poland, Adam Szłapka, the First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, participated in the informal ministerial meeting organized by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, where the topic of discussion was “Hybrid Threats to the Enlargement Process and Potential Responses to Them”. In addition to the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, present at this meeting were ministers for European Affairs from the region and Europe, including member states and candidate countries for membership.
At the beginning of the event, Minister Adam Szłapka stated that the EU enlargement process is also a priority for the current Polish presidency and that it is important to share experiences and jointly confront hybrid threats, while Commissioner Marta Kos emphasized the EU’s investments and support in this direction and the support for the enlargement process despite this threat.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized the continuous hybrid attacks that Kosovo has also faced and the reasons why our country is a target of foreign attacks and interventions from abroad. He also spoke about the continuous attacks on our state and national security, the latest one on critical infrastructure, in the Ibër-Lepenc canal in November last year.

Further, the Deputy Prime Minister also mentioned the attacks on the CEC website in the last elections in our country, but also the dissemination of disinformation and fake news, especially during the campaign, one case of which was the fake news about the increase in energy prices by 35% just a few days before the elections.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed the need for more unity in Europe and a common approach in facing the challenges posed by hybrid threats and attacks.
