Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi participated in a conversation with the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA)

During his stay in Budapest, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, was invited to the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA), where he lectured and talked with representatives of the institute, where participants in the audience included diplomats, connoisseurs of international affairs and students.

During his introductory speech, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned, among other things, the impressive rate of reduction of unemployment in the country, as well as the economic growth and positive macroeconomic indicators that improved the state’s performance in the last three years. Emphasizing that the population census, which is being developed, is important for the provision of accurate data and the establishment of good targeted policies, he added that continuous work has been done to improve the lives of all citizens, without distinction.

He underlined that the development that our country has known has come beyond the barriers we have faced, and that their elimination expands our opportunities, capacities and potential for further democratic advancement.

Further, he emphasized that it is important to ensure that this economic growth is sustainable and inclusive. He also mentioned the achievement of visa liberalization, the application for membership in the European Union in December 2022, as well as the country’s goals and objectives in the process of European integration on the eve of Hungary’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, the importance of expansion and EU Growth Plan, our work and efforts in this direction as well as the importance of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi heartily thanked all the participants for the interest shown in getting to know more about the situation in the country, the challenges faced by Kosovo and our objectives for the future. Before the start of the discussion session, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi was also welcomed to the meeting by the head of this institute, Gladden Pappin.
