The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, welcomed a World Bank delegation led by the Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Asad Alam.
In this meeting, the focus of the conversation was the scanning of the situation in the country regarding the extent of development and progress of Kosovo. From the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Alam positively evaluated the economic performance of Kosovo, singling out the economic growth that the country has experienced in recent years. The Deputy Prime Minister said that Kosovo has proven its progress through positive macroeconomic indicators, beyond the obstacles and barriers we have faced, being able to perform even better than the countries of the region.
He added that the existing potential for further economic growth, investment and the growth of promising sectors such as technology, can have an even greater impact on the increase in production, the development of the economy and the advancement of the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi also singled out the increase in employment, which has mostly affected young people and women, while we have taken care that the economic growth is distributed to all citizens, presenting for the first time, among other things, programs as allowances to children and expectant mothers. He said that the present and the future of Kosovo is promising and we are continuing our daily commitment in advancing towards this trajectory.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the World Bank team and the institution for their continuous support to Kosovo, as well as for the ever more fruitful and productive cooperation.
