Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi hosts the Executive Director of the World Bank, Hayrettin Demircan

The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, hosted the Executive Director of the World Bank, Hayrettin Demircan.

The topic of the meeting were current challenges, with a focus on inflation and the energy crisis as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the effects of which are felt throughout the European continent, including Kosovo. The parties also discussed about the eventual possibilities in the service of deepening the cooperation and increasing the support of the World Bank to concrete projects and ideas for investments in the Republic of Kosovo.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi spoke about the positive trend of the last year, where our country recorded double-digit economic growth, as compared to last year and the previous years, budget revenues, exports, formalization of the economy and foreign investments have increased. Mr. Demircan emphasized that he is impressed by Kosovo’s great development potential and investment opportunities in strategic areas. He pledged to continue cooperation and support for Kosovo’s development agenda.

Mr. Bislimi thanked Mr. Demircan for the visit, close cooperation and commitment to common challenges. In this meeting, Mr. Demircan was accompanied by the Advisor to the Executive Director, Mr. Salih Ercan.
