The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, received today in a farewell meeting the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo, Carin Lobbezoo.
Initially, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the ambassador for her contribution, work and continuous support throughout the last years to the Republic of Kosovo, especially in the progress, development and journey towards the European integration of our country.
He highly appreciated the close cooperation with the ambassador in these three years. Together, they reviewed the developments that took place during this period and the situation in the country and region, as well as discussed the prospects for the present and the future. The ambassador described as one of the most special moments in her mandate the liberalization of visas for the citizens of Kosovo.
They also discussed Kosovo’s steadfast commitment to the European integration process, and our country’s preparations within the Growth Plan as an important instrument in supporting the countries of the Western Balkans on the way to the EU. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi emphasized that Kosovo is the first country that has sent the draft narrative and reform agenda to the European Commission, proving not only the level of preparation, but also the will and readiness for important steps forward.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi expressed his gratitude for the many productive and constructive conversations, the development and strengthening of relations between Kosovo and the Netherlands, and wished the ambassador further success in her next engagements.
