The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, today hosted representatives of the Coordinating Council of the Family Associations of the Disappeared in Kosovo.
Today’s exchange coincided with the International Day of Disappeared Persons. In this meeting, the parties agreed to hold a sensitizing table for the International Day of Persons Disappeared by Violence, which is commemorated every year on August 30.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi informed the associations and about the priority addressing in Brussels within the dialogue process of the issue of persons disappeared by violence, on the engagement of the Governmental Commission for Missing Persons, as well as the continuous support for awareness and advocacy in relation to with this issue.
The Council thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for the support, and in particular for the visit made to Srebrenica on the occasion of marking the anniversary of the Serbian genocide there on July 11, and informed him of the challenges they are facing and the commitment of the associations in this process.
