During their stay and official visit to the United States of America, the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, together with the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, were received in a meeting by the Undersecretary for Trade, Maris Lago.
Strengthening cooperation with the USA and increasing investments and trade exchanges between our countries were the main topics of discussion.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi spoke about the economic growth of Kosovo and the development that the country has seen in the last two years, emphasizing the increase in exports as a contributing factor to economic growth.
Our first exporting country was the United States of America, where it was requested to continue to use the great potential that exists from other companies from Kosovo to export to the USA and to create the opportunity for training of about 20 entrepreneurs from Kosovo in the year next in USA.
Undersecretary Lago was also informed about the Government’s work in strengthening the institutional mechanisms for attracting and facilitating foreign direct investments, both in the legal aspect, as well as in the administrative and procedural aspect, which also includes the digitization of services.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi and Minister Murati emphasized that for the Government it is important to continue the support of the USA in building an attractive environment for doing business in Kosovo, and at the same time they thanked Undersecretary Lago for the meeting and the fruitful conversation.
In this meeting they were also accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Kosovo in America Mr. Bujar Maxhuni.
