Delegation of Government of Republic of Kosova in official visit in Brussels

A delegation of the Government of the Republic of Kosova, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi, and composed of Minister of Justice, Mrs. Nekibe Kelmendi, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Ahmet Shala and Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Zenun Pajaziti, is paying an official working visit to Brussels at the invitation of the EULEX Mission chief, Yves de Kermabon.
 
Following the meeting with Mr. Kermabon, the delegation of the Government of Kosova also had meetings with the heads of respective components of the EULEX mission in the field of judiciary, police and customs. In these meetings there was discussion on several aspects pertaining to the deployment of the EULEX Mission in Kosova and also the mandates and the objectives of the mission.
 
Speaking on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosova, Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi reiterated the commitment of the Government of Kosova to ensure a rule of law environment, and considered the deployment of the EULEX Mission as a huge support in this respect.
 
Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi confirmed the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosova for the EULEX Mission offering cooperation in a spirit of partnership.
 
On the other hand, Mr. Yves de Kermabon underlined that EULEX differs from UNMIK mission. According to him, it is the Kosovar institutions that are responsible for building a rule of law society and country, whereas the mission he leads will monitor and advise the institutions of Kosova.
 
Both parties agreed to further intensify cooperation in order to have a swift deployment of the EULEX mission so that it becomes operational as soon as possible.
