Prime Minister Kurti met with Lord Wood of Anfield

San Stefan, Montenegro, 23 October, 2026

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, yesterday afternoon, within the framework of the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit, met with Lord Wood of Anfield, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Europe at the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Kurti noted that the dialogue with London is close and continuous. He added that this meeting with Lord Wood of Anfield follows discussions held over the past two months with the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Dame Karen Pierce—one taking place at the UN General Assembly in New York, and the other via telephone from Pristina.

He emphasized that the United Kingdom has been a key friend and ally at every stage of our development—from liberation and independence to our current democracy—and remains one of the strongest voices advocating for the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Prime Minister stated that now, with fully functional institutions, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is focused on reforms and development, creating greater scope for cooperation with the United Kingdom—ranging from defense to the Pristina 2030 Mediterranean Games.
