The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met on Friday afternoon with the Head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, Mufti Naim Tërnava.
While Prime Minister Kurti noted that it is always a pleasure to meet with him, Mufti Tërnava congratulated him on the new President, Justina Shiroka Pula; her election averted a fourth parliamentary election in less than two years and enabled a return to institutional stability.
The meeting covered the good cooperation and progress of joint projects, civic solidarity and humanitarian efforts, social and national values, and the political situation and dynamics in the region and beyond. Discussions also addressed the unjust and erroneous first-instance verdict delivered by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as the work ahead to achieve success in the appeal process.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the constructive role and invaluable contribution of the Islamic Community of Kosovo to our people.
