During his visit to New York for the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski.
Full statement by Prime Minister Kurti:
Four weeks ago, we were together at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Skopje-Blace highway; today, I met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, in New York during the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
We continued our discussion on cooperation in infrastructure and energy, specifically regarding the advancement of joint projects. I emphasized the importance of accelerating procedures for the Prizren-Tetovo tunnel—a project of particular significance for citizens, as well as for tourism development and the economies of both countries. We also discussed the implementation of the coal agreement. We agreed to continue working toward the realization of these projects, which contribute to regional connectivity and energy security. Kosovo and North Macedonia are not only neighbors but also friendly states and partners, sharing common interests in peace, security, development, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
