On the 28th anniversary of the Lleshi family battle and the heroic fall of the martyrs Kolë and Mark Lleshi, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid homage to the Lleshi family martyrs’ tombstone in the village of Vraniq, Gjakova municipality.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his deep gratitude to the Lleshi family, which gave the country four martyrs in the liberation war and which has contributed across generations to the national cause.
On 7 August, 1998, Mark and Kolë Lleshi fell heroically in a confrontation with Serbian enemy forces while defending their family and trying to break the siege. Meanwhile, Prend and Memë Lleshi fell heroically in a confrontation with enemy Serbian forces, in an ambush, on 29 January, 1999.
