The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, chaired a roundtable on Kosovo’s development priorities and economic cooperation with France, organized as part of the official visit to Kosovo of the French Republic’s Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad.
The roundtable was attended by the Deputy Minister of Sport, Daulina Osmani, as well as representatives of Kosovo institutions, the French Development Agency (AFD), the France Sport Expertise Group, and French companies.
The discussion followed the signing of five new cooperation instruments between Kosovo and France: the Extradition Agreement; the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters; the Loan Agreement with the French Development Agency (AFD) for infrastructure investments as part of the preparations for the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games; the Letter of Intent on the establishment of the France–Kosovo Committee for the Mediterranean Games; and the Administrative Agreement on expanding the teaching of the French language in Kosovo.
Minister Rizvanolli presented Kosovo’s economic and development priorities, with particular emphasis on the energy transition, the development of new solar and wind energy capacities, the modernization and digitalization of the energy grid, and the development of new district heating systems.
She also highlighted opportunities to increase investment and cooperation in the ICT, manufacturing, trade, and infrastructure sectors, and invited French companies to participate in Kosovo’s upcoming investment projects and processes.
“France is one of our key European partners. There is considerable scope for our strong political relations to be complemented by even deeper economic cooperation, new investments, and concrete projects that serve the interests of our citizens and economies,” Minister Rizvanolli emphasized.
Minister Haddad described the discussion as productive and valuable, stressing that it marks the beginning of broader and more ambitious cooperation between the two countries.
“This is the beginning of something bigger and much more ambitious. The Mediterranean Games represent an excellent opportunity to foster and deepen our cooperation,” Minister Haddad stated.
The meeting also addressed the role of the French Development Agency (AFD) in supporting projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and sport, as well as the contribution of French expertise to the preparation and organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games.
Both sides expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation and work together to translate the identified priorities into concrete projects. Kosovo and France will continue their interinstitutional dialogue and engagement with the private sector to promote investment, sustainable development, and the creation of new economic opportunities.
