In addition to asphalting, the project includes, among other things: Complete rehabilitation of the road body in damaged parts, rehabilitation of six problematic areas with landslides, construction of retaining structures at critical points, regulation of the drainage and surface water removal system, construction and rehabilitation of side channels, regulation of existing connections and connections with local roads, etc.
Full statement by acting Prime Minister Kurti:
We are together with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, here in Malisheva for another very important project for the citizens of this municipality, and not only. This time it is about the reconstruction of the regional road R110, namely the Arllat – Malisheva segment, with a length of nearly 11 kilometers and 800 meters.
This segment starts in the village of Arllat, at the junction with the national road N9, Prishtina – Peja, continues through the villages of Tërpezë e Ulët and e Lartë, then Carrallukë and ends at the entrance to Malisheva, at the small transit where the connection is made with the regional road R119, Kijevë – Malisheva, the construction works for which we started last month.
The connection of the city of Malisheva with the regional and national road network, as well as with the “Ibrahim Rugova” highway, gives this segment the value of strategic importance.
The rehabilitation and modernization of the road will facilitate the movement of citizens, increase traffic safety, create more favorable conditions for the movement of goods and for economic development. Therefore, both citizens and businesses benefit.
The width of the road will be 6 meters, which means its expansion in certain parts. Meanwhile, the asphalt layers will be built according to modern standards, designed to withstand loads for a longer time.
This investment is more than asphalting or expanding an existing road, because, among other things, the project also includes the complete rehabilitation of the road body in damaged parts, then the rehabilitation of six problematic areas with landslides, the construction of retaining structures at critical points, the regulation of the drainage system and removal of surface water, the construction and rehabilitation of side channels, the regulation of existing connections and connections with local roads, etc.
Extremely important elements, which are foreseen with this project for the reconstruction of the road, are also the sidewalks in residential areas and bus stops or stations.
Of course, after the reconstruction, the road will be completed with both horizontal and vertical signaling, according to European standards, from lines, signs, directional signs to reflective and other protective elements, in order to increase traffic safety.
The value of the contract is close to 1.85 million euros, while the deadline for the construction of the road is 150 working days. As we have said, even faster than that is acceptable, but not later, but in any case we focus on standards in this reconstruction of the road.
Good job and congratulations to all the citizens of Malisheva!
