The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received today in a meeting the retired senior officer of the Army of the Republic of Albania and former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Adem Shehi, who earlier in the day was honored with the “Order of Freedom” decoration by the acting president, Albulena Haxhiu.
At this meeting, on Kosovo Liberation Day, Acting Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Shehi on the decoration and thanked him for his extraordinary contribution to the liberation war, from training volunteers to engaging on the front lines.
During the war in Kosovo, in the village of Farkë in Tirana, Adem Shehi had trained groups of volunteers, who later joined the ranks of the KLA. Meanwhile, in 1999, he had left his family and deployed to the war front, as part of the 153rd Brigade “Hyzri Talla” of the Kosovo Liberation Army, in the Llapi Operational Zone. He also continued to train soldiers at the center in the village of Zllash in Pristina.
