Dear participants,
We have gathered today to discuss the progress of one of the most important projects of the Republic of Kosovo for historical memory, cultural heritage and our identity: the drafting of the Master Plan for the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz.
Allow me to extend a special welcome to our partners from Germany engaged in this project. Your presence here and the work you are carrying out together with our institutions are proof of the professional cooperation we are building around a project of particular historical, cultural and state importance.
Prekaz occupies a special place in the historical memory of our people. The resistance and sacrifice of the Jashari family transformed it into a symbol of the defense of the homeland and dedication to freedom, thus proving that freedom is not merely a political ideal, but also a value for which everything may be sacrificed.
For this reason, the treatment of the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex is not merely a project of spatial planning, conservation or museum development. It is an institutional obligation to preserve, document and transmit this heritage with dignity to the generations that come after us.
Since the establishment of the Interministerial Committee, we have worked carefully to build the professional, technical and institutional foundation of this project. The necessary studies have been carried out, local and international experts have been engaged, and the international competition for drafting the Master Plan has been successfully organized, with the aim of ensuring that this process develops according to the highest professional standards.
Through this process, we have secured not only professional solutions, but also an approach that treats the complex as a historical, cultural and memorial whole. The work being carried out today is not limited to drafting planning documents or technical projects; it creates the basis for the long-term preservation of the values represented by Prekaz and for the manner in which they will be understood and transmitted in the future.
Today’s meeting is an opportunity to become acquainted with the results achieved so far and the steps that await us going forward.
To present the overall progress of the process to date, I invite the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ms. Saranda Bogujevci, to take the floor.

From what was presented today, we may conclude that the project is advancing in accordance with the dynamic contract plan and that the documents drafted so far demonstrate a high professional standard.
According to the planned schedule, the conservation projects for the Resistance Towers are expected to be completed during this year. This will enable the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to initiate procurement procedures for the implementation of these projects, marking the transition from the planning and design phase to the phase of concrete conservation interventions on site.
The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo remain fully committed to ensuring all necessary institutional, professional and financial conditions so that this project is successfully completed and implemented according to the highest technical and professional standards, in line with the historical, cultural and state importance it carries for our country.
