The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting President, Albulena Haxhiu, paid tribute at the grave of the martyr of the nation and hero, Agron Rrahmani, on the 28th anniversary of his heroic fall.
Following the tributes, Acting Prime Minister Kurti said that the second week of May 1998 was extremely difficult for the liberation war, as within that week Bahri Fazliu, Ilir Konushevci, and Agron Rrahmani were killed.
According to Acting Prime Minister Kurti, these blows led, on the one hand, to the Albanian people realizing that liberation from the Serbian occupier and aggressor could only be achieved through war and, on the other hand, contributed to the mobilization of the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

The second week of May 1998 was extremely difficult for the liberation war, because within that week Bahri Fazliu – Gëzimi, Ilir Konushevci – Mërgimi, and Agron Rrahmani – Naseri were killed.
Bahri Fazliu was the political and national ideologue, Ilir Konushevci was the spirit of the logistics and organization of the KLA, whereas Agron Rrahmani was the relentless commander of operations, who since February 1998 had also been commander of the “Rexhep Mala” guerrilla unit.
These blows gave great momentum to the liberation war, because on the one hand the Albanian people realized that only through war could we liberate ourselves from the Serbian occupying aggressor, and on the other hand the war began to spread to urban areas, thus increasing both the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the awareness of our entire people.
Agron Rrahmani, in direct battle with Serbian enemy forces in the “Muhaxherëve Neighborhood,” just one neighborhood below where his body rests here today, will always remain an example of an activist and patriot who sacrifices everything and never stops, even to the point of self-sacrifice, for the liberation of our people, for the freedom of our country, and for the progress whose foundations and roots we never forget.
