The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Mr. Jeton Zulfaj, is participating in the Informal Meeting of Ministers for European Affairs, taking place over two days, on 10–11 May, in Nicosia, Cyprus.
This two-day meeting is organized within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union and brings together ministers for European affairs, representatives of the European Commission, as well as ministers from candidate and potential candidate countries. The meeting serves as a platform for exchanges on the future of the European Union enlargement process.
During the first day, following the organized city tour, Chief Negotiator Zulfaj was welcomed by Cyprus’ Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Ms. Marilena Raouna, where he also had the opportunity to exchange views with the heads of delegations of the Member States.
The second day is dedicated to thematic discussions, with particular attention given to EU enlargement.
Mr. Zulfaj will participate in the enlargement session with the aim of placing the issue of Kosovo’s candidate country status and the opening of accession negotiations at the center of the discussion.
