Prime Minister Kurti Visits Works at the Wind Park in Zatriq, Municipality of Rahovec

Zatriq, 30 April 2026

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, visited the construction works at the wind park in Zatriq, in the municipality of Rahovec, which is expected to be completed in July this year.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti stated that this €110 million investment by Çalık Renewables from Turkey and Eurokos from Kosovo adds a new capacity of 70 MW for electricity generation from wind.

“This project is proof that Kosovo, through an appropriate legal and regulatory framework and continuous improvements in the business environment, provides security for foreign investments in renewable energy and beyond,” said Prime Minister Kurti.

Full Speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

The temperature and the noise of the tent under which we have taken shelter make it more than clear that strong winds blow here in Zatriq—and it is good that this is the case, because we need energy from renewable sources for a sustainable future, as also stated on this banner in front of you.

Honourable Ms. Artane Rizvanolli, Minister of Economy,
Honourable Mr. Emre Erdoğan, CEO of Çalık Renewables,
Honourable Mr. Ylber Shamolli, CEO of Eurokos Holding,
Distinguished participants,
Dear workers,
Ladies and gentlemen,

Today we are here to visit the works at the wind park in Zatriq, in the municipality of Rahovec, which is expected to be completed this July.

This €110 million investment by Çalık Renewables from Turkey and Eurokos from Kosovo adds a new capacity of 70 MW for electricity generation from wind to Kosovo. Each turbine has an approximate capacity of around 6 MW, with a total of 12 turbines.

The park is expected to produce 185 GWh of electricity annually, covering the consumption of 45,000 Kosovo households with clean energy.

This project is proof that Kosovo, through an appropriate legal and regulatory framework and continuous improvements in the business climate, offers security for foreign investments in renewable energy and beyond.

I congratulate Çalık Renewables, Eurokos, and all the workers—175 in total, of whom 130 are from Kosovo—for their commitment to implementing this quite complex but very important infrastructure project for our country. I look forward to returning here soon to inaugurate the start of production together.

Congratulations and thank you!
