Prime Minister Kurti commemorated the massacres of the Mulliqi and Morina families

Prishtina, 30 March 2026

On the 27th anniversary of the massacres against the Mulliqi and Morina families, on Monday, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid homage in Kastriot and Drenas in honor of the victims of Serbia’s genocide, half of whom were children and students.

In the village of Millosheva in Kastriot, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, and the Mayor, Halil Thaçi, commemorated the massacre of the national cause activist Fejzullah Morina and his three sons: Lavdimi, Fidaimi, and Shkëlzeni. The latter two were only 14 and 10 years old.

Meanwhile, in Abri e Epërme of Drenas, Prime Minister Kurti and his associates commemorated eight members of the Mulliqi family—men and boys—killed by Serbian armed forces on 30 March 1999. Of these, four were children and students aged between 13 and 17.

On this occasion, they also commemorated the martyr of this family from the battle of 19 August 1998, Sejfulla Mulliqi, who stands as a unique example, having, at the age of 17, sold a cow to buy a weapon so that he could join the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Prime Minister Kurti stated that, in order to remember the high price of the freedom and state we have today, people also come to this place every 26 September, the date on which, in 1998, Serbian forces massacred 23 members of the Deliu family.
