Prime Minister Kurti Meets Sir Geoffrey Nice

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with Geoffrey Nice, who was accompanied by lawyer Taulant Hodaj.

On this occasion, Sir Geoffrey congratulated the Prime Minister on his re-election to office, commending him on the plebiscitary victory in the 28 December elections and on his commitment to the fight against crime and corruption.

Sir Geoffrey Nice is an internationally renowned jurist and barrister, with a long career in the field of international criminal law and public international law. He served as a prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), where he led the prosecution in the case against Slobodan Milošević. His extensive experience in handling international crimes, state responsibility, and complex legal matters has made him one of the most respected figures in this field. He has also advised previous governments of the Republic of Kosovo on a range of legal issues related to international law.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti and Mr. Nice discussed his previous cooperation with the Government of Kosovo, as well as a number of topics related to international law and the functioning of the Specialist Chambers. In particular, the Prime Minister informed Mr. Nice about the Government of Kosovo’s efforts to support, in various forms and within the legal framework, those accused before this Court. For his part, Mr. Nice expressed his readiness to continue cooperation with the Government of Kosovo in the future.
