Prime Minister Kurti Welcomes the Mayor of Ulcinj, Genc Nimanbegu

Prishtina, 18 February, 2026

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the Mayor of Ulcinj, Genc Nimanbegu, together with the delegation accompanying him. The visit took place a day after the anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence, on which occasion Mayor Nimanbegu congratulated Prime Minister Kurti on the special occasion.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that the Kosovo Independence Day is a special occasion for all Albanians, as Albanians from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presevo Valley and the diaspora have contributed to the journey towards freedom and independence.

They discussed topics of common interest, including political and economic developments in the region, as well as opportunities for further cooperation for the benefit of citizens.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked President Nimanbegu for the visit and congratulations and expressed full readiness to deepen mutual cooperation for the benefit of the development and well-being of Albanians in Montenegro.

President Nimanbegu presented Prime Minister Kurti with a handmade model of an Ulcinj sailing ship, made by master craftsman Xhevat Kashoxha.
