The new Government of the Republic of Kosovo held its inaugural meeting today and its first meeting, in which it:
- Approved the Draft Law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union on the Arrangements for the Implementation of the Union’s Support for Kosovo under the Instrument for Reforms and Growth. The purpose of this agreement is to create the necessary legal basis for Kosovo to benefit from European Union funds, in the amount of 882.6 million euros, provided within this instrument for reforms and growth;
- Approved the Draft Law on Ratification of the Financing Agreement for the First Program for “Financing Development Policies for Fiscal Efficiency, Competitiveness and Green Growth” between the Republic of Kosovo and the International Development Association (part of the World Bank);
- Approved the Draft Law on Ratification of the Loan Agreement for the “Western Balkans Reform and Growth Instrument” between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union. The Agreement aims to accelerate approximation with the European Union legislation, regional economic integration, and socio-economic convergence with the EU, by supplementing the funds of the pre-accession instrument (IPA);
- Approved the Draft Law on Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo represented by the Ministry of Finance and the International Development Association for the KOMPAS Project – Kosovo’s Comprehensive Approach to Strengthening the Health System. This agreement is support to the health sector in Kosovo as part of the government program. It is worth 18.6 million euros, and the conditions are similar to the one for early childhood education;
- Approved the Draft Law on Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo represented by the Ministry of Finance and the International Development Association for the Project “Early Childhood Education and Care for Human Capital in Kosovo”. The Ministry of Finance, together with the World Bank, has signed the loan agreement for the project Early Childhood Education and Care for Human Capital in Kosovo;
- Approved the Draft Law on Budgetary Allocations for the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo for 2026, in the amount of approximately 4 billion euros;
- Approved the request to the Assembly, through a decision, to authorize the extension of the implementation of the Law on Budgetary Allocations of the previous fiscal year, also for the month of March 2026.
