The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the funeral ceremony of national cause activist and former political prisoner, Adil Pireva. He expressed his sincere condolences to the Pireva family, friends and associates of Adil Pireva.
Adil Pireva was among the main organizers of the 1968 demonstrations. As a national cause activist and former political prisoner, he also made a valuable contribution through the written word, as a journalist, poet and novelist. Between 1964 and 1968, he worked as a teacher in the village of Lower Lupq, before working as a journalist at the newspaper “Rilindje” and then at “Bujku”. He is the author of the works:
‘The Albanian Sixty-Eight’ (1994), ‘Years of Hope and Resistance’ (2004), ‘The Albanian Ordeal’ (2008), ‘Poetry for Children’ (2008), ‘The First Demonstrations for Kosovo as a Republic’ (2016). Adil Pireva died at the age of 81.
