The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the acting Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, were welcomed today at the Chamber of Physicians, where they held a meeting with the leaders of this organization: the President of the Chamber, Dr. Plaurat Sejdiu, the Vice Presidents Dr. Naser Gjonbalaj, Dr. Lauras Idrizi and Dr. Rrezart Halili, the Chairman of the Steering Council, Dr. Faik Shatri, as well as other colleagues.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Vitia were informed about the work, challenges, results and objectives of the Chamber of Physicians. Among other things, the good news was emphasized that there is a significant decrease in the departure of doctors from the country, and in the number of requests for treatment abroad. It was also emphasized that out of nearly 5,500 doctors licensed by the Chamber of Physicians, 150 are from non-majority communities, while in the last six months, about 50 doctors from the non-majority Serbian community have been licensed, thus being incorporated into our healthcare system.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and commitment of the Chamber, as well as his gratitude for the contribution to the smooth running of the healthcare system in general. At the same time, he provided unstinting support for the Chamber of Physicians.
Minister Vitia underlined the importance of cooperation between the Chambers and the Ministry of Health in terms of the professional development of healthcare professionals and for the best possible services for our citizens.
The leaders of the Chamber of Physicians thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the visit, the first by a prime minister, as they highlighted, and expressed their willingness and readiness for a close partnership for the development of the healthcare system and the increase in the quality of services of the public healthcare system.
