The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a meeting today with the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Kosovo of European Union member states. The meeting was held at the EU Office in Kosovo, at the invitation of the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.
The main topics of discussion were the progress of the early parliamentary elections of 28 December 2025, the importance of the rapid constitution of the tenth legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and the formation of the new government, as well as the ratification in the Assembly of the agreement on the European Union Growth Plan for Kosovo and the priorities of the next governing mandate.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that we are currently awaiting the certification of the results by the Central Election Commission and that immediately after that, the constitution of the Assembly and the election of the new Government will proceed. He stated that the next mandate will be a mandate of large infrastructure projects, oriented towards sustainable economic development and increasing the competitiveness of the country. Special attention will be paid to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, especially manufacturing companies, with the aim of creating new jobs and strengthening local capacities. The Prime Minister also emphasized that security and defense will remain among the fundamental priorities of the new Government, always in the function of peace and security.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Kurti thanked the ambassadors of the member states of the European Union for their continued support for Kosovo and reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to deepening cooperation with the European Union in all areas of common interest.
