The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, visited today the Kosovo A and Kosovo B Power Plants, where they were welcomed by the management and employees of KEK.
During this visit, they closely observed the operation of the units of the two power plants. The Prime Minister thanked the board, management and all KEK employees for the extraordinary work they do in the service of citizens, businesses, industry and our production, and at the same time in the service of the general security of the Republic, as he wished them a Happy New Year 2026. He congratulated them on the investments made so far and pledged that together we will have the modernization of the “Kosova B” Power Plant, as well as the rehabilitation of the “Kosova A” Power Plant, in which case we will also have increased capacities, in terms of energy generation.
Meanwhile, Minister Artane Rizvanolli emphasized that this year KEK has made the largest investment in the last 40 years in KEK and in the energy sector by modernizing the turbine in Block B2 and making other investments in this Block. She further emphasized that the same investment is expected to be made in Unit B1 next year, along with the installation of filters that will significantly reduce pollution. The Minister highlighted an important step that has been taken this year, which is related to the start of contracting for the deep rehabilitation of the A3 unit worth 137 million euros. She also mentioned the Solar4Kosova project, which is partially financed by the EU, for which she stated that through this project a 100 megawatt Solar Park will be built, which is already in the procurement process.
