Last night, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the reception organized by the Ambassador of Japan to Kosovo, Kiminori Iwama, on the occasion of the visit of the Japanese Business Delegation.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the delegation to our country, emphasizing that their presence in Kosovo is a powerful message of interest in new opportunities for cooperation between us.
“Kosovo and Japan share a relationship built on mutual respect, support, and common values. Japan has been an unwavering partner for Kosovo—supporting our development, strengthening our institutions, and contributing to the well-being of our citizens. For this, we remain deeply grateful,” said the Prime Minister.
He added that today Kosovo’s economy continues to grow and modernize, while we are creating new spaces for investment, innovation, and cooperation.
“In the coming days, your meetings with Kosovo’s institutions and companies will open doors to new opportunities—whether in technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, agriculture, or the rapidly expanding sectors of digital and creative industries,” the Prime Minister stated.
He further noted that, following the latest discussions between our institutions, both Kosovo and Japan have a clear readiness to strengthen cooperation and to begin joint economic activities. This commitment to bringing Japanese investments to Kosovo and deepening the economic ties between our two countries lies at the heart of our partnership.
Full speech of Prime Minister Kurti:
Mirëmbrëma!
Konbanwa!
Your Excellency Ambassador Iwama,
Distinguished members of the Japanese business delegation,
Members of Parliament, colleagues from the Government, mayor of Prishtina,
Honored guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is a great pleasure to join you this evening, and I would like to begin by expressing my deep appreciation to His Excellency Ambassador Iwama for hosting this reception, and for his continued dedication to strengthening the friendship between Kosova and Japan.
Tonight, we have the privilege of welcoming an important business delegation from Japan—leaders, innovators, and visionaries who represent one of the most advanced and respected economies in the world. Your presence in Kosova sends a strong message: a message of openness, of partnership, and of genuine interest in exploring opportunities for cooperation with our country.
Kosova and Japan share a relationship built on mutual respect, support, and shared values. Japan has been a steadfast partner for Kosova—supporting our development, strengthening our institutions, and contributing to the well-being of our citizens. For this, we remain profoundly grateful.
Today, as Kosova’s economy continues to grow and modernize, we are creating new spaces for investment, innovation, and collaboration. Our young and dynamic workforce, our increasingly favorable business environment, and our commitment to digital transformation make Kosova an attractive destination for new ventures. Therefore, the arrival of the Japanese business delegation comes at the perfect moment.
In the coming days, your meetings with Kosova’s institutions and companies will open the door to new possibilities—whether in technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, agriculture, or the rapidly expanding sectors of digital and creative industries. The cooperation between KIESA and JETRO in organizing the upcoming business forum and B2B meetings is a very important step toward fostering these connections. It demonstrates our shared intention to transform ideas into action and to create tangible opportunities for companies on both sides.
At the conclusion of recent discussions between our institutions, both Kosova and Japan expressed a clear willingness to strengthen cooperation and initiate joint economic activities. This commitment—to bring Japanese investment to Kosova and to deepen the economic ties between our countries—is at the heart of our partnership.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Visits like this are not simply ceremonial. They are another new chapter in the story of our long-term collaboration. Every conversation that takes place in this room tonight—and in the meetings that follow—has the potential to shape new partnerships, new jobs, and new projects for the benefit of both our countries.
As Prime Minister, I want to assure you that Kosova welcomes Japanese companies with openness and enthusiasm. We stand ready to provide full institutional support, to ensure a stable and predictable environment, and to work together to build meaningful and lasting economic relationships.
Excellencies, distinguished guests,
Let us make this visit a moment of new beginnings—of broader cooperation, of deeper friendships, and of shared successes.
I wish the Japanese business delegation a productive and inspiring stay in Kosova. May this visit strengthen the bonds between our nations and open new horizons for collaboration.
Thank you very much.
Arigatō gozaimas!
