Prishtina, 8 October 2025
The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, participated in the signing ceremony of agreements providing financial support to 198 micro, small, and medium enterprises. These enterprises have been selected to benefit from financial support worth €8.9 million provided by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade through the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA).
Expressing his particular satisfaction at being among these businesses, the Prime Minister stated that in line with the government’s vision for good governance, sustainable development, welfare, security, and equality, creating a favorable business environment and increasing the competitiveness of our enterprises remain unchanged priorities.
“With this next investment, we are offering direct support for unlocking potential and growing the local industry — precisely for those who are key contributors to further economic, social, and environmental development in our country,” said the Prime Minister.
The 198 micro, small, and medium enterprises are beneficiaries of three grant schemes from KIESA:
- Grant scheme for supporting manufacturing enterprises with export potential for the purchase of production machinery, benefiting 129 enterprises with financial support of €7.3 million;
- Grant scheme supporting enterprises operating in the ICT sector, benefiting 42 enterprises with €1 million; and,
- Grant scheme for product certification, benefiting 27 enterprises with €600,000.
“The signing of these agreements is a clear example of the commitment to support the industry and create new opportunities in an adaptive and competitive business climate in Kosovo. Sometimes the industrial sector is not fully understood — its main driver is not merely profit, but growth. Growth of your industries is highly advantageous for us, because the more your industries expand, the more imports are replaced, exports increase, and the economy of our country grows”, he emphasized during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, stated that this marks another success for our economy and for the welfare of our citizens alongside the local industry. She added that the signing of these agreements contributes effectively to the overall development of our country.
Full Speech of Prime Minister Kurti:
Honorable Acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari,
Honorable Acting Director General of KIESA, Mr. Zef Dedaj,
Distinguished representatives of the business sector in Kosovo,
Honored guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is a particular pleasure to be here with you today at the signing ceremony of agreements providing financial support to 198 micro, small, and medium enterprises. These enterprises have been selected as beneficiaries of financial support worth €8.9 million from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade through the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA).
In line with our vision for good governance, sustainable development, welfare, security, and equality, creating a favorable business environment and increasing the competitiveness of our enterprises remain unchanged priorities.
With this next investment, we are offering direct support for unlocking potential and growing the local industry — precisely for those who are key contributors to further economic, social, and environmental development in our country.
These 198 micro, small, and medium enterprises are beneficiaries of three grant schemes from KIESA:
- Grant scheme for supporting manufacturing enterprises with export potential for the purchase of production machinery, benefiting 129 enterprises with financial support of €7.3 million. This support scheme aims to expand production and processing capacities in priority industrial sectors and increases their competitiveness with products of value for the international market.
- Grant scheme supporting enterprises in the Information and Communication Technology sector, benefiting 42 enterprises with €1 million. Through this scheme, we assist enterprises that propose the creation of new products or the development and improvement of existing ones, with a focus on increasing export opportunities.
- Grant scheme for product certification, benefiting 27 enterprises with €600,000. This grant scheme will contribute to increased production and processing, improve the trade balance through greater participation of local products in international markets, boost exports, increase employment, and raise national revenues.
Distinguished guests,
This support is not merely financial aid; it is a commitment to help local enterprises, which are a cornerstone for the sustainable development of our country. The good news is that in the second quarter of this year, economic growth reached 4.58% of GDP, indicating stable and continuous growth. On this occasion, allow me to thank each of you for your contribution to our country’s economy — from employment, where you bear the main responsibility, to your contribution to the state budget through taxes paid to our Republic.
Through our development policies, we are strengthening the country’s economy together and supporting, like never before, our citizens and the growing manufacturing industry, for inclusive and sustainable development for all citizens of our Republic.
The signing of these agreements is a clear example of the commitment to support industry and create new opportunities in an adaptive and competitive business climate in Kosovo. Sometimes the industrial sector is not fully understood — its main driver is not merely profit, but growth. Growth of your industries benefits us greatly, because the more your industries expand, the more imports are replaced, exports increase, and our country’s economy grows.
Congratulations, and may your efforts bring even greater success in the future.
Thank you!
