The cornerstone of the new primary school and kindergarten building in the Bosniak neighborhood is laid

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peci, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica North, Erden Atiq, participated in the laying of the cornerstone of the new primary school and kindergarten building in the Bosniak neighborhood, in the municipality of Mitrovica North, an investment of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

The new building will have nine primary school classes and one kindergarten class, in which case there will also be a library, teachers’ hall, offices and so on, so that the conditions are modern, for the best possible teaching and also for learning with the highest standards.

Prime Minister Kurti said that the total cost is around 4 million and 152 thousand euros and that the works will be completed in 18 months, which means that we will inaugurate this school in the Bosniak neighborhood in the spring of 2027. The school will have an area of ​​around 2,500 square meters, while around 760 square meters will be for the kindergarten. It will accommodate around 500 children, of which around 400 for primary education and over 70 for early education, i.e. kindergarten.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked those who contributed and conceived the construction of the school, and wished for speedy and successful construction.

Mayor Atiq called today’s groundbreaking a historic day, while Minister Nagavci announced that, in addition to this school, preparations are being finalized for the start of construction of another new school in northern Mitrovica.
