New York, USA, 28 September, 2025
The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, and the Consul General of Kosovo in New York, Blerim Reka, were welcomed by leaders and members of the “Peja” Association in New York.
Thanking them for the hospitality, Prime Minister Kurti also expressed gratitude for the commitment, role and continuous contribution of our compatriots in America, who are silent heroes not only of the liberation of Kosovo, but also of democratic state-building.
He emphasized that in the last four years, Kosovo has achieved significant successes in the economy and development, and that in addition to the people of Kosovo, our diaspora has also played an extremely important role in the successes of our country: whether by supporting their families or by investing directly in Kosovo. On this occasion, he invited his compatriots to invest more in Kosovo, taking advantage of the opportunities the country offers.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Liza Gashi informed them about the government’s programs dedicated to our diaspora, in particular for young professionals, such as the Citizen Diplomacy program, which aims to include them in the country’s development and institutional processes.
Among other things, the Prime Minister also spoke about the importance of the Albanian language and its learning by the new generations of the diaspora, emphasizing that through it integration is achieved without assimilation and national identity is preserved.
