Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed in a meeting the new United Nations Development Coordinator in Kosovo, Stephen O’Malley, congratulated him on his appointment, and extended a warm welcome to Kosovo.
The Prime Minister highly valued the ongoing cooperation with the UN team in Kosovo (UNKT) as a reliable partner in strengthening governance and sustainable development. He thanked them for the long-term support provided to Kosovo.
During the meeting, several of the most successful areas of cooperation were highlighted, including the fight against corruption, early education, cultural heritage, and social housing. The government’s readiness was reaffirmed to deepen the partnership with UNKT in the direction of developing human capital through inclusive education, quality healthcare, social protection, the rule of law, and good governance.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his conviction that Mr. O’Malley’s leadership will elevate the existing partnership to an even higher level during the new 2026–2030 planning cycle, based on the shared principles of inclusiveness, gender equality, and human rights.
