Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the Apostolic Delegate of the Holy See to the Republic of Kosovo, His Excellency Monsignor Luigi Bianco, who is on his first official visit to Kosovo.
The Prime Minister congratulated him on his new position and wished him a warm welcome to Kosovo. He expressed his gratitude for the Vatican’s support for Kosovo during decisive historical moments.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the democratic and economic development of the Republic of Kosovo and the inter-institutional commitment to aligning policies with the principles and objectives of the European Union, with the aim of full membership in Euro-Atlantic structures and mechanisms. He noted that the declaration of Kosovo’s independence has contributed both to peace and security in the region and to the socio-economic progress in our country. Furthermore, he underlined the Government’s efforts in preserving and promoting cultural diversity as a key factor for the democratic development of our society, presenting some of the concrete achievements in the field of preserving and promoting religious cultural heritage in the country.
Thanking him for the relations, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to deepening cooperation with the Holy See in the fields of culture, interfaith dialogue, environmental protection, and sustainable economic development.
