Yesterday’s bilateral meetings in Copenhagen of the Acting First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, were concluded with the Minister for European Affairs of Denmark, Marie Bjerre. This was the second meeting between the parties, after the one in Pristina last April.
The main topic of the conversation was the dynamics related to the European integration process, where the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the country’s aspirations and objectives in this regard. He said that in the current geopolitical momentum and security context in Europe, enlargement should have priority. In this context, he underlined the importance of Kosovo’s advancement on the path towards the European Union and that our country deserves to receive candidate country status after applying for membership in December 2022.
Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the State of Denmark for its continued support for Kosovo and the partnership between our two countries, while expressing readiness for close cooperation during the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU and further deepening of bilateral relations.
