Prime Minister Kurti Visits Construction Sites of the New Preschool in the Madrasah Neighborhood and the New School in the “New Prishtina” Neighborhood

Following the laying of the foundation stone for the new preschool in the village of Bardhosh, Municipality of Prishtina, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, visited today the ongoing construction works at the new preschool in the Madrasah neighborhood, as well as the new school in the “New Prishtina” neighborhood. These are investments by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in Prishtina, with a total value of four million euros.

The preschool in the Madrasah neighborhood is expected to be completed earlier than planned, with construction works set to finish in September, one month ahead of schedule. Prime Minister Kurti welcomed this very good news, noting that the total cost will be less than 750,000 euros. The preschool will cover an area of 1,550 square meters and will accommodate up to 120 children.

During the visit, the Prime Minister emphasized that this preschool is aligned with the government’s strategy for early childhood education, aiming for today’s children to grow into dignified, hardworking, and capable citizens of our Republic. He thanked the contractor for the work being done and all those who have contributed to the construction of the preschool.

From there, the delegation continued to the “New Prishtina” neighborhood, to the construction site of the new school, another investment by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in the Municipality of Prishtina, with a value of 3.3 million euros. The school will cover a total area of 6,430 square meters and have a capacity for 800 students. Construction began in January 2025, with the initial timeline estimating completion within 36 months. However, based on the current progress and work intensity, the contractor announced that completion is expected ahead of schedule.

Prime Minister Kurti described this as good news for the neighborhood, parents, and children, noting that more schools mean better well-being for citizens and better intellectual, emotional, and professional development for future generations.

The total value of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo’s investments during this mandate in the field of education in the Municipality of Prishtina exceeds 12.2 million euros.

The Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, also participated in these visits.
