The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, paid a condolence visit today to the Ahmedi family, who lost their beloved, Prof. Dr. Fikret Ahmedi.
He expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of the late professor, as together they reflected on his life and work—remembering him as one of the most prominent figures in higher education and in the field of engineering, and among the first professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Prishtina.
As a sign of respect, the Ahmedi family gifted Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Rizvanolli three university textbooks authored by Prof. Dr. Fikret Ahmedi.
Throughout his career, Prof. Dr. Fikret Ahmedi published academic textbooks, served for many years as the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture and as the head of the Geomechanics Laboratory, and contributed as an expert to major engineering projects in the country. For his extraordinary contributions, he was honored with acknowledgments by the University of Prishtina and the Kosovo Chamber of Engineers. He passed away on 13 June 2025, at the age of 82.
